I'm having trouble coming to the realization that the tables at our wedding reception probably won't look like this (with our colors)... ... but rather something much more boring. Up until this point I've felt good about the decisions I've made. I feel like I'm getting something good and worthwhile for the money I've shelled out. The conference center will look nice, but not as nice as I want it to because spending a lot on linens and table decor just seems to me like a bit of an extravagancy that's unneeded. Do you ever leave a wedding remembering the centerpieces? I don't. Maybe it's because they're always easily unforgettable?
Philip and his parents lost their long-time family dog, Kita, tonight. :( She was old and had a good, long life sitting and laying on the porches and roaming the yard/land around the house. I don't think I've met a more sweet, calm, and quiet dog. Kita and Abby were bffs. After they lost Abby almost 2 years ago, Kita started to decline. They both will be missed, but the laughs and love they gave won't be forgotten.
Wedding-related news to report! Save the Dates are out and on people's fridges! People seem to like them. I'm such a perfectionist and they aren't quite perfect, but they're pretty close! I bought a new printer yesterday for the sole purpose of printing wedding stuff (invitations, envelopes, programs, menus, etc...) and I am quite pleased with it thus far. There she is. She's an HP Photosmart 7510. Someone on Weddingbee said that it's good for envelopes and that recommendation was really the only reason I got it. I'm always scared to buy new gadgets because I don't know if they'll live up to my expectations. This one has so far, minus a little initial frustration over it printing crooked. (It seems to be fixed now, though!) I made a little mock-up of our invitation and it looks really professional, so I'm pretty excited about it. Hmm... what else? I decided to create an ebay account because there have been quite a few thin
Over $550 dollars for four bouquets (mine, plus three bridesmaids) and three corsages for his mom and grandmothers. I guess it's maybe what I chose (roses)? It still seems to me that they make a killing off of that. I'm glad we opted to not get flowers for any of the guys... that would've easily been another $100 or more. Ohhh well.
Opening a conversation on the telephone by saying, "Hello, my name is... and I have a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree," does not make me more susceptible to putting you into a class that you do not have the prerequisites for. Nor does saying that you've taken "some of the hardest classes on the planet." Do all colleges/universities get students telling them these types of things? I doubt it. For some reason people seem to think that community colleges have no standards or something.
March 30's List (Day 30!): To My Future Self... Take time to smell the roses : Time just goes too fast. Remember to focus on what really matters : What my hair looked like or what my outfit was today won't matter when I think back 10 years from now. How I loved Philip and others in my life will matter. Continue to view life through the eyes of a child : I want to always feel wonder and be curious, even if others think I am naive.  I'm back from DC! I love traveling, but I think we all get those small twinges of anxiety over it, especially when flying, so I'm glad to be safely back on the ground where I belong and feel comfortable. I'll make a post about my time there later on, probably tomorrow.
