So I looked at my little Wedding Wire checklist for this month and this is what I have (including appointments that I've put into it, because I'm super organized like that):

1. Bridal show at Peoria Civic Center on January 8. I'm really excited for this since it's the first official wedding outing with my aunt, future mother-in-law (FMIL), and future sister-in-law. It'll be fun to see the fashion show and just get good ideas too.
2. Finalize guest list. I'm not really sure if we have any finalizing to do, but I'll double check with Joy (FMIL), my dad, and my aunt.
3. Set up registries. I must admit that I'm pretty excited for this. I think we'll probably register at Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Originally I thought just Target, but some of the girls at work talked me into BBB. It'll just be so fun for us to (finally) plan our little life together... and that life requires stuff.
4. Search for a ceremony musician. I have some ideas from Joy for pianists, but I'm not 100% sold on the idea of piano. I have a good friend who is amazing on guitar, but I'm not sure if acoustic guitar will be loud enough for the space. And I want any musician we have to be fantastic, because there's nothing worse than a mediocre wedding musician. (Okay, that was a little dramatic, but I've been to a few where the soloists just aren't great and I don't want people to be cringing.)
5. Book videographer. I got a referral from Griffin Hammond, who is the person I wanted to do video. He's "thinking about a career change" (according to his wife, Amy, who I work with at Heartland), so he's not taking anymore video jobs for now. The referral Griffin gave me (Adam) hasn't contacted me in over three weeks, so I'm not sure if I can rely on him, even though I'm sure he does a good job. I have an acquaintance who I know does video too (Paul), but I want to wait to see Adam's prices before contacting Paul. If Adam does an amazing job and the price is similar, I might have to forget about his delinquency. We'll see!
6. Dress shopping at David's Bridal on January 21. I'm excited and nervous for this! I'm excited to see the colors of bridesmaids dresses in person. I just want to have the color chosen; I feel like things will start to come together more once I know the color. I'm excited to see Briana and Faith in flower girl dresses. I think it'll be really cute! It'll be surreal for me to be trying on wedding gowns and this is the part that makes me nervous!
7. Engagement photo session on January 30. I'm also excited and nervous for our engagement pictures. I want to look good and I want to have good outfits. I'm sure they'll turn out amazing since our photographer is fantastic, but still... I'm nervous for it.
8. Make an appointment with Casey's once wedding colors are chosen. I already put down a deposit for the flowers, but they can't do much without knowing our colors. This appointment won't be until probably March or something.

I love lists and I love talking about the items that I have on my lists. I might have to do this every month!
