Marriage Monday - The Meal

We were pretty excited for the food. I mean, I can only speak for myself here, but Philip really liked the food when we taste tested it at Eastland a few weeks prior. We were pleasantly surprised with how great it was. It's actually kind of scary to choose your reception venue without having tasted their food, because what if it's awful? And now you're stuck with a nice looking venue but no one's going to enjoy the meal? Well, we didn't have that problem! I made these menus for every seat. Yes--I made over 100 of these menus. I asked Eastland to fold the napkins this way so that the menus could fit inside. Luckily they were totally on board when I brought them a printed out tutorial on how to fold the napkins. I mean, I was trying really hard not to be micro-managey, but c'mon... I wanted it the way I wanted it and it was great because the girls at Eastland were like, "Awesome, we finally get to do something different!" I can't believe I...
Monday's List (Day 26): My Morning Routine Wake up via alarm clock at about 6:50 Hit snooze a couple of times Finally get up at about 7:10 Pee Pet Chloe a little Weigh myself Hop in the shower Get dressed Do my hair Do my makeup Lotion + perfume + jewelry Run around getting some type of food together for lunch Run around getting workout clothes together for after work Check my phone; at this point it's probably 7:50 or 7:52 (It takes 10 minutes to get to work... eek!) Head out the door with all sorts of bags (This is one of my new pet peeves--having too much stuff to take to work with me!) Drive to work; hopefully hit all green lights! Fun times. My morning is usually rushed, which is kind of annoying but it's only my fault because I can't get my danged butt outta bed! Yesterday's List (Day 27): If I Could Do It Over Again, I Would... My soul just feels better with fresh air in my lungs. I didn't bring anything to work with me for lunch today (I am so out of groceries right now), so I was forced to go somewhere. I decided on Subway, since I hadn't had it forever and because it's probably the least caloric option in the vicinity of work. I took my tuna sandwich to Fairview Park and sat in the parking lot overlooking the hills where they let the fireworks off on the 4th of July. (That makes it sounds so picturesque, but it's not really!) I sat there for about half an hour, five minutes of which was spent with my eyes closed with the sunshine on my face. I thought about how perfect of a day it would be if I were at a beach. It was still pretty nice, even for being in Illinois in the middle of a bunch of cornfields. I drove back to campus and went for a walk for about 20 minutes. I smiled to myself thinking that folks in England would think that this weather is really hot. I remember one day Carrie ...
Today's List (Day 19): Recipes I Want to Try Before Pinterest, I would have no idea what to include in this list, because I'm not one to peruse the internet in search of recipes to try (or actually try them). To date, I have pinned 36 recipes on my "Food" board on Pinterest, but here are the ones I will most definitely try when I have a proper kitchen, proper utensils, and someone to share the meals with. Enchilada lasagna Mexican Dorito casserole Crock Pot Taco Chili Dr. Pepper Barbecue Sauce Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese Slow Cooker Cheesy Potato Soup 30 Minute Crusty Baguettes Pioneer Woman's Perfect Iced Coffee Chocolate Pecan Bars Butterbeer Red Velvet Brownies with White Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Oreo Brownie Trifle

I decided a few days ago that I'm going to make a scrapbook with all of the pictures and stuff that I collected when I was in Cambridge. I found a great website,  Scrap Your Trip , that basically has everything you could ever want and I've been having fun deciding what papers to order. I thought I would stop by the only scrapbooking store left in town, Scrapbook Friend'z, to see what they have before getting everything from the website. I was so sad to see when I rolled up that they're closed! It must have been really recent because I saw people in there moving things around and cleaning. I was pretty sad. :( I was over by Schnuck's, though, and decided to run in and see if they have the ice cream that I've been wanting and looking for all week, Blue Bunny's Red Velvet Cake ice cream. They didn't have it at the ghetto Kroger and it cost me $6 at Schnuck's, but oh--was it worth it! Advisor job at Heartland is posted! I'm so excited and nerv...

I honestly don't know what I'm going to do with all of my extra time when I have it. The past three days I have been incredibly bored. This entire week I have had no plans; none at all. It's so strange to literally sit around all day and do nothing. I have watched movie after movie, both on my new tv and on Netflix on the computer. I started reading a book too. But I'm still so bored . With that boredom comes eating way too much. It is ridiculous how much food I have consumed. The insanity has got to stop, and it will... hopefully beginning tomorrow. I've been thinking the past few days how nice it would be if the new student fitness center was open on campus so that I could do something productive like work out, but no. It doesn't open until January 10. Speaking of lots of food, I was up early enough this morning to get McDonald's for breakfast. This occasion rarely happens (not being up early enough, but just having McDonald's for breakfast). My sa...
