Marriage Monday (Wednesday?) - Flowers

Image
Way behind. I guess it could be worse. We opted to not do many flowers at all, because... They are super expensive. Like stupidly expensive. (I spent $550 on four bouquets and one corsage. Shyeah.) They are unnecessary. I feel like people don't really notice them at all. The only flowers I ever remember seeing at weddings are the bridesmaid and bride bouquets. Did we miss not having boutonnieres for the boys? That would be a no. Mine. Our's. Joy's. I have to say that they turned out quite different than what I was envisioning. I wanted hydrangea bouquets because they are my favorite flowers. I found dark purple fake ones that matched the bridesmaids' dresses perfectly and some lighter purple ones that accented the dark purple perfectly. I wanted to use the darker ones in my bouquet and the lighter ones in the bridesmaids' bouquets. I thought that they would look much more hydrangea-y and not so rose-y. We also had to do a lot of trimming on ...
No pictures this week, so kind of a boring post... sorry! Dad got his suit. He even got his tailoring done. He looks super cute! I met with the guy from Casey's on Friday about flowers. We've firmed up the details and I'm so excited! They will be very pretty. I picked up my wedding gown on Saturday! It's beautiful and fits me like a glove. I can't stop looking at the pictures of me in it that my aunt took. It is very me . I can't wait to wear it alllllllll day. I didn't want to take it off! Joy (Philip's mom) and my aunt Peggy picked up their dresses on Saturday too. It was fun to have a little trying-on party at the alterations place. I still need to get my dress steamed. There are a few tiny spots on it (it was a sample, so lots of other girls tried it on before me), so I need to get those cleaned too. I'm really scared to take it to the dry cleaner's, but I gotta have faith! I need to do this soon since I don't know how long it'l...
Over $550 dollars for four bouquets (mine, plus three bridesmaids) and three corsages for his mom and grandmothers. I guess it's maybe what I chose (roses)? It still seems to me that they make a killing off of that. I'm glad we opted to not get flowers for any of the guys... that would've easily been another $100 or more. Ohhh well.
