Today's List (Day 14): Tools and Toys To Try I'm not a big gadget person, so this one's going to be very uncreative. And short. My apologies. A phone with just a touch screen ? I like phones, but I don't really use them. I am impressed when people have cool phones, because cool phones make you a cool person. I am a person that doesn't need a cool phone because I don't talk to or feel a need to be connected to other people or the world at-large at all times. This makes me an uncool person. Anyway, in this day and age, cool phones (and cool people) are synonymous with phones that only have a touch screen. You know... iPhones and Androids and things of that nature. It is nearly impossible to find a "cool" phone that has real buttons and I like real buttons. Again, I am just proving to you how uncool I am. I'm also letting the cat out of the bag about how old I am getting. I'm fearful that I may have to jump into the pool of touch screen-exc...

Well, I got talked into staying with T-Mobile. I went up to the little kiosk in the mall last night and asked them when my contract was up so that I could cancel it. They asked me all sorts of questions about why I wanted to cancel (everyone I really talk to is on AT&T; there were no phones that I wanted that T-Mobile carried; I didn't want to spend a fortune per month paying for a data plan, etc.). So anyway, I got all of my questions answered and decided that it was better for me to keep the plan that I had. I've been with T-Mobile for four years and I've never had a problem with them. I really like them, actually. I got a BlackBerry for $30 (really $80, but with a $50 rebate) and I can try the $15 data plan for a month without paying for it, at which point I can cancel it if I don't want it. The guy looked into a lot of things for me and was really helpful--he even gave me a free case for my phone. It's the little things, ya know? So my phone's prett...
I made a huge purchase yesterday morning. I've been wanting a new computer for quite awhile but couldn't bring myself to do it because my old one was working fine. BUT, last week my Compaq started doing crazy things that I've never seen before and couldn't fix on my own. That computer was a good 4-5 years old, so it wouldn't have been worth it to try to fix it. So I got a MacBook. And it's totally sweet. And it cost me $1400. And that's the biggest purchase I think I've ever made. But I'm an adult now, and I can do that because I'm responsible for myself. And then yesterday evening my car doesn't start. My dad doesn't seem to know what's wrong with it either, which scares me because my dad is a car person. I hope it doesn't cost me a lot but my fear is that it will. I really just don't have a good $500 right now. And I hate asking for money. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. I got an A in my first graduate-level course...
