Wedding Wednesday Last Wednesday was the 4th of July, and then we went on a little vacay down to Six Flags and some caverns in Missouri this past weekend, and then I've had "homework" for work the past two nights, so I honestly haven't had the time to do much wedding stuff since last week. But here is the little news that I do have! Sash news: Done and done! The one from Amazon came and I liked it better than the one from ebay, so that's a wrap! (My dad liked the one from ebay better, but, sorry Pops!) I have only a bracelet to get and I know exactly which one it'll be--it's part of my late birthday present from Philip. I asked my friend, Sheila, to help do some logistical things at the ceremony. She'll be handing out programs and a few other minor things. I'm so grateful to have her help because I know she'll be good; she's an event coordinator for her job at UNLV! We ordered the suits for the guys from Men's Wearhouse. The guys...

Sadly, I'm going to be a few days behind on my 30 Days of Lists list. Tonight I'm trying to clean up the Turner's house because they return tomorrow afternoon/evening. The air conditioning isn't working at their house right now (it's just a toasty 82 degrees in here), so I'm waiting on the Bratcher man to come fix it. There's no way I could sleep here tonight if it's not fixed. The basement is even hot; the upstairs bedroom that I sleep in that has two windows facing south and west (with sun just blaring in all day) is just miserable right now. I'm also trying to work on my presentations for Friday, but my concentration is lacking due to being warm and feeling like I have a lot of other things to be doing. (So what do I do when I feel like I have a lot to be doing? I procrastinate. Counterproductive, right?) I talked to Cecilia today about my interview and she reassured me that there's no reason why I won't be picked and that I shouldn...

Today has felt really long, even though I slept past 11:00. It was so nice to sleep in at my own house and in my own bed. I felt guilty for sleeping at home this weekend, but I just needed to be in my own space for more than an hour. I spent the majority of today here and I'm sure the animals are happier, even though all they do is sit and lay around. They're always near me, though. :) I worked on my advising philosophy off and on today. I wish that I could've gotten more done, but it's actually a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. I feel like I have a lot to say, but putting it all together cohesively has been the challenge. I'm such a stickler for having things flow and make sense in a sequential way. It'll all come together. I have a few things going on this week after work that will give me less time to work on this stuff, which makes me nervous, but I'm not too worried about it. Right now I'm actually not even all that nervous for Fr...

Today's List (Day 13): DIYs I Want to Try I guess my answers have been kind of lame lately, but I'm honestly not really a DIY type of person. I suppose I might be someday when I'm bored and feel the need to work on a project for fun or if I have wedding-related things that I feel I could create cheaper than I could buy. There are a lot of things on Pinterest that look fun and easy to do, but there's no reason for me to do those things right now and I really have no interest in doing them either. I'll get back to you on this one with a great answer! -------------------- Gosh, I hope tomorrow is fun. I just love the 4th of July and the past two years I've missed the festivities because I've been out of the country. (First world problems, right?) I've just really missed the fireworks and I'm looking forward to them! I'm housesitting and animalsitting for the next three weeks for the Turner's. This is the longest period of time I...

I basically chose the craziest week to house and animal sit at the Turner's. Tomorrow alone I have the job interview at Heartland at 10:00 (which I didn't know about until Thursday, but still...) and I have my practicum supervisor and practicum professor meeting with Matthew and Dr. Paterson tomorrow afternoon as I'm working from 1:00-7:00 there. I will have much anxiety about both of these things tomorrow. Tuesday I work at ISU from 9:00-4:00 and then at Heartland from 5:00-7:00. Wednesday I have work at ISU, GRAD Finale (where I buy my cap, gown, and hood!), a group meeting, and class. Thursday I have practicum class after work at ISU and then the other class from 5:30-8:20. And Friday I'm shadowing Teri Farr again from 9:00-noon, then I'm going to a conference at Heartland, which is also all day on Saturday. I like that the days and weeks go quickly, but when you're not at your own house, it's just more craziness than need be. Most of this is my normal ...

I've decided that I talk too much when I'm around my friend Michele and that I do this because she reminds me of my friend Jessica. Jessica was always the more quiet of the two of us and I would always dominate the conversation--I found this happening even recently when I visited her in Seattle. Typically I'm the more quiet person and let the other talk more, but I think that I'm so starved for a female friend that when I'm around one, it just all spills out and I can't shut up. I don't like this because then I feel insensitive and I don't want to look like I don't care about what's happening in their life because I really do. So, next time I'm around Michele or Jessica my goal is to let them do them the talking and guide the conversation while I ask the questions and listen. Classes begin in one week. I'm anxious and excited to get started, but at the same time bummed that I don't have at least a little more time to chill out befor...
