Welp, the suspense is over. I know what the topics of my presentation and idea pitch will be for the interview at Heartland.

My "short" presentation (10-15 minutes) will be on my academic advising philosophy. She included a lot of good prompting questions with things to consider when talking about it, so I think it'll be fairly easy. Well, not easy. I think it'll be easy to come up with ideas about things to say, since it's about myself. Putting it all into a cohesive presentation will be challenging and the actual delivery will, of course, be nerve racking.

The idea pitch portion is about the Heartland GPS program that's starting up. I basically have to come up with ideas about the program and talk about how I would make it successful. Again, she gave lots of good background information on what they want the program to achieve, so I think it'll be okay coming up with the ideas for it. This part, though, is supposed to commence for 40 minutes, so I'm hoping that I'm not supposed to have 40 minutes worth of ideas, but rather, but we'll be discussing my ideas for that period of time, including them asking me questions about it and whatnot. I'm not sure if I should ask Cecilia for clarification on this or if I should just prepare 40 minutes worth of things to talk about.

Oh and another new thing is that I'm going to be meeting with both President Goben and Vice President Saaf together, instead of just meeting President Goben. So that makes me a little more nervous, though Dr. Saaf is a dear old man who is pretty quiet. (I've met him before, at my previous interview for Heartland.)

I'm glad that I'll have all weekend and the next week to work on this. Perhaps I'll get to look at it a little while I'm at work, as well.

Ohmygoodness... I can't wait until this is over. I don't mind these exercises because I think it's good for me to think about my personal advising philosophy, but the amount of stress and worry prior to and at actual delivery will nearly kill me. BUT I'm not thinking about that right now... (Yeah, right.)
