Okay... I AM SO EXCITED. But first things first...

On Monday I went to Fox and Hound's with the intent of getting my normal chemical straightener, but she talked me into doing a Brazilian Blowout. (Weird name, I know.) I had heard of BB before, but mostly bad things like it having formaldehyde, which is really bad for both the stylist and the customer... like, it causes cancer. I asked the stylist, though, and she said that they did testing on it and it's not true. (I'm not really sure if I believe this 100%. My general feeling is that anything so full of chemicals has to be bad for humans somehow.) There's so much hype about this straightener being so good, though, that I just wanted to try it, so I did.

I must admit that it's pretty good. It takes me like 6 minutes to blowdry my hair now and it's pretty much straight without having to do anything else. There are a few spots that she probably could've added more product to because it's not as straight as I would like it to be, but she did a good job for the most part. Much less maintenance than the other kind of straightener, but we'll see how long it lasts. Supposedly 3 months, but I doubt it'll be that long for me. It's quite expensive, so I'll be upset if it doesn't last that long, but oh well. It's just money!

Since I decided to do the BB at the last minute, the stylist didn't charge me for my haircut! So I gave her a $40 tip. :) She cut a lot off, which I was kind of sad about. My hair was getting pretty long and now I feel like I've lost like 4 months of growth. That's okay... it feels more healthy and it's just hair. It'll come back eventually.

And to the real news. Tonight we went dress shopping. It was so fun. I was really nervous at first. I didn't know what to expect and I was in front of a lot of people. But Joy (FMIL) asked for us to be moved to a different spot and I was much more comfortable. We ended up having our own little cubby of rooms so that our flower girls and Brooke and my aunt could try on dresses too. (Oh... btdub... I asked my aunt to be a bridesmaid before we went!)

I think I probably tried on maybe 14 or 15 dresses. I was in and out them pretty fast because I usually know what I do and don't like. There are two in particular that I like a lot... one that I pretty much love. We will go to Bridal Elegance here in Bloomington in a few weeks and if I don't find something I love more, I will get that one at David's Bridal, because I really do love it.

Oh! And we chose the color--we're going with plum! It was a tough choice between plum and peacock; I reeeally loved both and couldn't decide. But I asked Brooke and Peggy and they both seemed to like the purple better and I think it's a sign because last night at Shoe Carnival I found these shoes on clearance for $20 and wore them today while trying on dresses and they match the plum color perfectly.

I love the color and am excited to have this chosen finally! Purple, and specifically dark purple,  is my fav color, so it only makes sense for me, anyway!

I'm going to have that dress in my mind for awhile, though. I kind of want to go to Bridal Elegance as soon as possible to see if there's anything that beats it. I'm so excited!!!
