Well, it is that time of year again. It is time to get a new planner.

Was the importance of having a planner pounded into your head during junior high like it was for me? This was the first time that I remember being told about having an "assignment notebook" and how crucial it was to my success as a student. I didn't fully appreciate the planner until college and, especially, grad school. (I don't think I could've made it through grad school without one!)

I am now a full-on planner fanatic. It's with me everywhere; it's out on my desk at work at all times. I consult it probably 8 times a day or more. Because of this, it's hugely important to have a super cute one... and the photo above is the one I've chosen and am now stuck with for the next 12 months. (Also, can I say how annoying it is to me that a 2013 planner goes from July 2012 through December 2013? When am I supposed to start using it? Is it supposed to run for the academic year or for the calendar year? Right now it's both and I'm not appreciating it. You will probably only run into this problem if you get your planner from Barnes & Noble, which is always my choice because their designs are super cute and the layout is exactly what I look for. For these reasons, I guess I can live with the academic/calendar year confusion!)
