My friends and family would describe me as...
I hope they would also describe me as caring and giving, but they probably would just say bratty and self-important! :P

Finally. We finally have a date. I'm so relieved and happy that we can move on from this. When I opened the letter from the chaplain at Wesleyan and saw September 22, 2012 at 3:30 pm (even in bold like that), I looked at it for a moment and imagined how nervous I'm going to be and thought about how it's actually happening now. Yay! This week during my lunch break I've spent a lot of time calling and emailing different reception places in town. Holiday Inn and Suites near the airport, Doubletree, and The Chateau are all booked for that date. I do have a viewing of Parke Hotel and Conference Center scheduled on the 28th and I'm emailing back and forth with Eastland Suites to see if they have our date open. It's actually kind of nice that these places are booked, just because it makes for less options and, therefore, less decisions to make. I think we'd be happy to have it at Parke, but I still want to see it in person again and talk to the catering manager. ...
It is so amazing to me how much better my mood is when the temperatures are warmer and the sun is shining through just a bit. I've been in this weird funk for the past few days. I think it's been a combination of subconscious sadness from the anniversary of Mom's death (6 years), the realization that I have homework over spring break, my resistance to doing that homework, my annoyance with myself for having that resistance, slight PMSing, and other factors. But this morning... ahh--this morning! This morning I walk out the door and it's practically warm enough to not be wearing a coat! A jacket, maybe. And this automatically put me in a better mood. I was even able to walk in to the building from the parking lot and not be uncomfortable. Spectacular. And it might get even better as the week progresses. I heard something about a high of 63! Perhaps spring will really come this year after all. I'm pretty excited because last night I discovered that iTunes has a ...
I started writing this post in April of last year. Whoops. Three bathrooms is more than we had ever hoped for in a house. We knew we wanted at least one and a half. It's nice to not have guests go into the bathroom that you shower in. We are so lucky to have three toilets! The bathroom on the first floor has been kind of, maybe, the biggest "reno" project to date. (I had nothing to do with it besides painting and decorating.) It is teeny. Like super teeny tiny. We call it "the little bathroom." But it works. This is what it looked like before: Mauve paint. Plastic, cream-colored shelving. The smallest toilet seat you've ever seen/sat on. High school bathroom sink/faucet. Mirror/medicine cabinet from the 1970s. Everything just nasty with grime. You can't even see the light fixture, but rest assured, it was awesome! Seeing this picture again grosses me out. It was so nasty! Even the paint color on the wall behind the bathroom grosses me out. Oliv...
