Marriage Monday - Getting Ready (Me!)

I skipped last week's Marriage Monday because I wasn't in the mood and was seriously lacking the motivation...

Like I said in the previous week's Marriage Monday, I was very calm the morning of the wedding. Our photographer and videographer commented several times that I was one of the calmest brides they had ever been around haha. My aunt and I went to get the flowers, we hung out while the others were getting their hair done, and all of a sudden it was 11:01. And I looked at the clock beside the bed and said...

"Oh my god--I'm supposed to be at Fox and Hound's right now for my makeup appointment!"

I just could not believe that I did that! I never forget about things like that. I grabbed my aunt and we sped away. I called F&H on the way there; luckily we were only like 15 minutes late and the girl doing my makeup was running behind anyway. We even got done earlier than I had anticipated.

(Sidenote: The trial for my makeup was not good. I can't remember if I wrote about it before, but it was kind of a mess. She did one eye in brown and one in gray/black because I wanted to see a smoky eye in both colors. She was legit going to let me leave F&H with one brown eye and one gray eye! She also put way too much makeup on me; I looked like a raccoon. I just wanted something natural but more dramatic than usual for me. She ended up doing a decent job on the day of... I can't complain.)

When we got back from makeup, it was my turn to get my hurr did.

The time flew! At one point I noticed that my chest was getting red and blotchy and I mentioned it to TJ. She said, "It's because you're anxious." I could tell that my heart was starting to beat faster and faster, I think both because I was nervous to walk down the aisle and because I was scared we weren't going to have enough time to get to the chapel and get dressed. All of my little worker bees (Dad, Peggy, Michele) were getting everything loaded into Dad's truck for the ride over while I was getting my hair done.

Putting on my fake eyelashes was one of the last things we did before we left for the chapel.

I felt bad for TJ because everyone was watching her and it was all quiet... the anticipation of being ready to go and finishing up the final touches!

She "shellac"-ed me up and it was time to go!

Once we were at the chapel, I put on my dress and Peggy tied on my infamous sash...

I put on my mascara and lip gloss and away we went!
