Marriage Monday - Something(s) New
This one was the easiest of the something old/new/borrowed/blue, because basically I bought everything new!
My dress was from Bridal Elegance. I really do feel like this dress was meant for me. It was on the sample/sale rack and the sales girl brought it to me. I wouldn't have found it otherwise. I loved it. I loved the ruching, the modified sweetheart neckline, the fit and flare (really I think this one is considered mermaid), and the asymmetricalness of the bottom. Despite some of the issues I had with it later on (expensive alterations and cleaning), it was so worth it.
That freaking sash. Hahaha. You all remember the sash saga. After all of that, I found the perfect one on Amazon, of all places.
I knew that I wanted a bolder earring since I wouldn't be wearing a necklace. I saw these at Von Maur and fell in love immediately. I knew that I wanted pear-shaped ones because to me they have more of a classic, elegant feel. I just couldn't stop thinking about them, so I asked for a gift card to Von Maur for my birthday and went and bought them the next day. The bracelet is the same brand (Nadri) and Philip got it for me for my birthday. I like bangles and it had sparkle, but not too much. I love them both so much--I will wear them again in Vegas (and any other dressing up opportunity)!
Shoes were difficult to find too. I knew I didn't want heels because Philip isn't that much taller than me. Also, I just wanted to be comfortable and people hardly see your shoes anyway. I ordered two or three different pairs of white flats; they didn't match my dress! These shoes are very casual, but were the perfect color of purple, so I knew that they would work. I added the pearls just to jazz them up a bit. I made the comb for my hair. I wanted to wear a very simple veil for the ceremony and then take it out for the reception. Being without anything in my hair for the reception would've been fine, but I thought it would be cute to add something different for the party. I wanted a clustery look for the comb, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so I ventured into jewelry making for an afternoon and came up with this. It turned out pretty good!
Can we go back and do this all again? Writing about it makes me miss it!
